 China Aggregates Industry News Flash

As Covid-19 has been put under control in China, nationwide aggregates companies, including those in Hubei, have returned or are preparing to return to work. Here are partial latest news about China’s aggregates industry brought to you by Aggregates Guangzhou Fair.
 
Ø April 7th, the National Development and Reform Commission released Yangtze River Mainstream-Crossing Transport Infrastructures Plan (2020-2035), stating that by 2025, there should be 180 transport lines crossing the stated river’s mainstream, and 240 by 2035.
 
Ø To protect the environment along the Yellow River, this April 3rd, the Ministry of Water Resources issued a notice that from this April to November, an inspection tour will be made to crack down on illegal and improper river sand mining activities.
 
Ø April 1st, Dateng Gorge of Guangxi Province reopened after a 163-day shutdown   due to dam construction. Shipping capacity of Dateng Gorge has been improved greatly from yearly 13 million tons to 52 million tons, increasing sand transporting capacity from Guangxi to Guangdong, and facilitating the construction of the Greater Bay Area.
 
Ø To clamp down on illegal sea sand mining and transportation, this April 1st, China Coast Guard, Ministry of Natural Resources, Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and Ministry of Transport jointly announced enhanced law enforcement efforts for ocean protection in 2020.
 
Ø To cut costs and tackle sand shortage, recently China Railway Construction Corporation Limited is actively expanding into aggregates business, with a goal to attain self-sufficiency in construction sand.
 
Ø It has been recently announced that The 6th Guangzhou International Aggregates, Quarrying Tailings & Construction Waste Disposal Exhibition (Aggregates Guangzhou Fair 2020) will changed its date to this August 11th-13th.

Latest on COVID-19 in China
Data from the National Health Commission show that in the past 10 days (March 30th-April 8th), except for imported cases, only 15 New Local Cases were reported in Mainland China.
